Development (Hybrid position, working twice a week in San Jose
office)General Position SummaryThis position is responsible for
meeting sales goals by performing territory management, product
presentations, performance management, successful negotiation, and
effective sales planning to assist the company in meeting corporate
objectives.Essential Job FunctionsBusiness Development
- Achieves the sales quota which is discussed and agreed between
the incumbent and management.
- Travels through assigned territory to call on existing and
prospective customers, and to attend trade shows for business
opportunities.
- Develops new businesses through introduction of the company and
product positioning.
- Researches and compiles lists of prospective customers for use
as sales leads from various sources.
- Researches market conditions and conducts feasibility studies
to determine market demand for existing and new products or
services.
- Gathers, analyzes, and compares competitor data and pricing for
benchmarking purposes.
- Prepares presentation materials for sales and marketing
purposes.
- Calls on delinquent accounts and collects payments.
- Attends departmental sales meetings to discuss project status
and prospective customers.
- Provides input to management on new product or service features
to meet current and future customer needs.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key customers and
accounts.Account Management
- Communicates with customers via phone or email; processes
purchase orders, confirmations, invoices, and changes in
product/delivery schedules.
- Informs customers of prices, shipping dates, anticipated
delays, and any additional information needed.
- Follows up on sample, literature, and specification
requests.
- Understands every account/customer special requirements and
ensures they are recorded for each sales order.
- Reviews orders for accuracy and product availability; enters
orders into the system.
- Checks inventory level and places purchase orders.
- Investigates customers' complaints and inquiries and provides
solutions.
- Completes requests for return merchandise authorization (RMA)
and failure analysis.
- Maintains records or logs of important customer calls received
or information provided.
- Compiles statistics and prepares various reports for
management.Other & Miscellaneous
- Seeks constant improvement in work processes.
- Performs other duties and projects as assigned by
management.
- Maintains high ethical standards in the workplace.
- Reports all irregular issues and problems to management.
