We focus on putting insurance underwriters back in the driver's seat, helping them meet their goals while providing an important service to society.Federato Technologies is a Series B startup based in San Francisco, CA backed company funded by some of the most prominent VCs in the Bay Area. We build software leveraging data and AI to enable large insurance carriers to improve their portfolio optimization and make insurance affordable again. You will be making fundamental development and architectural decisions each and every day and play a significant role in the company's long term success. This is a remote position, but we do have an office in San Francisco.Responsibilities

• Develop, design, create, modify, and/or test software applications or systems for various products or software services
• Develop a strong understanding of relevant product area, codebase, and/or systems
• Demonstrate proficiency in data analysis, programming, and software engineering
• Produce high-quality code with good test coverage using modern abstractions and frameworks
• Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Work independently, use available resources to get unblocked, and complete tasks on schedule by exercising strong judgment and problem solving skills
• Master internal development standards from developing to releasing code in order to take on tasks and projects with increasing levels of complexity
• Mentor more junior developers and improve their overall capabilities
• Collaborate with Product Designers, Product Managers, and other Software Engineers to deliver compelling user-facing products
• Be able to work with customer empathy in ensuring that products and solutions meet their needsRequirements
  • Demonstrated interest in engineering for impact
  • University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field
  • 6+ years of hands-on industry experience in full stack engineering
  • Familiarity with event backbone and job pool platforms (Kafka, etc)
  • Willingness to get hands dirty across a broad variety of internal and client software
  • 5+ years of experience with React, Typescript, Python (Django) and have built complex backend systems
  • Demonstrated ability to pick up new technologies quickly and learn on the spot
  • Experience in design and code reviews$150,000 - $210,000 a yearFinal offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
